Rules
Ground rules
Two mixed teams take part in the contest. There are six players and at least one woman on each team. As many as four substitutes can be nominated.
The competition is especially designed for employees of the companies at The Park. Outside players can be called in but at least four players working at The Park must be in the court during a match.
Each player can take part in the contest as a member of one team only.
Tournament organization
Up to 10 registered teams – one group. More registered teams – qualifying groups, with group winners qualifying for the final.
Each team will play all other teams in the qualifying and final groups.
The registration software will distribute teams to qualifying groups on a random basis.
All matches without referees. We rely on fair play principles to be complied with.
Matches and score
Matches are played in accordance with effective FIVB rules. For the full rules, see the enclosure below.
Matches are best of three to 25 points (the first team to be two points ahead), up to 27 points.
The overall standing in a group (qualifying or final) is based on the number of matches won, the number of sets won, the number of points scored, the lesser number of sets lost, the lesser number of points lost, and the result of the match between the two particular teams, in that order of priority.
If a team is not present for a match without a prior excuse not less than 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the match, the team will lose the match 0 : 2 and 0 : 25 in each set by default.
If teams do not play a match by a defined date, they will not get any point for the match. If a team withdraws during the League, matches played against the team will not be included in the overall score.
Automatic organization system
The competition website at www.theparkevents.cz is designed for the League to be automatic and used by players themselves.
At the start of the contest, representatives of registered teams will receive authentic usernames and passwords to be used throughout the tournament.
Each team will receive a list of their qualifying group opponents, and winners will later receive a list of the final group, via e-mail. The lists will contain contact details entered during registration.
Team representatives will arrange matches with each other. Match dates, including changes, are based on your agreement. Please bear in mind however that you should play all matches within a defined timeframe. That is, qualifying group matches by the end of August – Friday 27 August to be precise.
A summary of matches in all groups will be published in the section called “Schedule of Matches.” A player will display his or her current matches by filling in their username and password. Content can be amended there.
First and foremost, you need to book a court time for a match arranged in the “Schedule of Matches.” You can choose every full hour from 10.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. on working days. We do not expect large crowds to turn out at other times. You can of course play your match whenever the court is unoccupied. However, if teams arrive and have booked their time in the court, they naturally have priority.
After the match, the winner is required to again log in to the system and fill in the result in the schedule of matches. That is to say, record the points for the winner and the other team – one point for a win and no point for a defeat – and add the score.
In the event of disputes, you can appeal to the tournament organizer via e mail at info@theparkevents.cz to have your problem resolved. However, we rely on all persons involved to cooperate and play fair throughout the contest. After all, we especially want to have fun and enjoy summer days together.
All situations not explicitly described in these rules will be resolved by agreement between teams.
